There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who were at Farpoint in 2003 (aka “Snowcon”) and
Those who wish they had been!
The evening of Saturday, February 15, 2003 forecasters in the DC – Baltimore area were predicting snow. Convention goers at Farpoint were concerned they might have trouble getting home the next day, and although some did leave on Saturday night, most stayed.
The next morning, everyone woke up to a record-breaking two feet of snow. The governor declared a state of emergency, banning travel in order to allow the roads to be cleared without the need to rescue stranded travel. And the convention was extended an extra day.
If you were there and have memories or photos to share, I’d love to hear from you.
